Frondescence is the process of putting forth leaves, as a tree, plant, or the like. The larvae of moths cannot mature and develop until they have eaten enough nutrients. Similarly, as a child progresses into adulthood they consume knowledge and logic but at some point at the expense of their own imagination and creativity. The caterpillars represent this erosion of creativity.
